Our story

The gap betweenknowing and getting.

A note from the founder

The Bridge the Gap Fund was founded by Dr. Sadie M. Randle after more than thirty years working in special education and disability services — and after living with epilepsy herself since the age of two.

Throughout her career, Dr. Randle repeatedly encountered individuals and families who knew exactly what support, therapy, or safety equipment would change a life. They had done the homework. They had found the right provider. And then, again and again, a financial barrier stood between them and what they needed.

Insurance wouldn't cover it. The school district couldn't fund it. The regional center said it wasn't eligible. The waitlist was years long. The family didn't qualify for aid — but couldn't afford to pay out of pocket either.

The Bridge the Gap Fund was created to help bridge the gap.

We are a small organization with a focused mission: when traditional funding sources can't help — and the need is real — we step in. Quickly, respectfully, and without adding more paperwork to a family that has already done so much of it.
